An injury to the tarsal metatarsal ligament when the joint is carried through a range of motion greater than normal, but without dislocation or fracture. "Lisfranc" joint complex.
Symptoms:
Pain in the foot
Swelling in the foot
Point tender to the tarsometatarsal ligament
Unable to stand on tip toe
Loss of ROM
Causes:
Axial load sustained with foot plantarflexed and slightly rotated
