Definition:
Inflammation of the bursas surrounding the tibial lateral collateral ligaments.
Symptoms:
- Pain in the knee
- Pain with walking
- Pain with squatting
- Swelling in the medial knee
- Point tender to tibial lateral collateral ligament
Causes:
- Overuse
- Repetitive jumping, walking, running
- Direct blow
- Trauma
- Muscle imbalance
Treatment:
- ROM and stretching
- Soft tissue massage
- Knee stabilization exercises
- Lower extremity strengthening
- Cryotherapy
