Quadricep Tendinitis
Definition:
Inflammation of the tendons attached to the quadriceps muscle group.
Symptoms:
Pain in the knee above the patella
Pain at the start of activity and ache after activity or in the evening
Stiffness in the knee
Point tender at the quadriceps tendon
Causes:
Repetitive quadriceps activation- running, cutting, kicking
Muscle imbalance
Structural abnormalities
Treatment:
Examine your shoes regularly for wear
ROM and stretching
Knee stabilization exercises
Lower extremity strengthening
Correct faulty running and/or walking patterns
