Bartons Fracture
Definition:
Intra-articular fracture of the distal radius with dislocation of the radiocarpal joint.
Symptoms:
Decreased ROM of the wrist and hand
Swelling of the wrist
Weakness in the wrist and hand
Causes:
Fall on an extended and pronated wrist
Treatment:
Surgical intervention
Progress to ROM and stretching
Hand intrinsic muscle strengthening
Upper extremity strengthening
