Chronic tendinitis with formation of mineral deposits in and around the shoulder joint.
Symptoms:
Pain in the shoulder
Inflammation in the shoulder
Pain is worse with overhead movement of the shoulder
Stiffness in the shoulder
Snapping
Catching
Weakness of the shoulder.
Causes:
The cause of calcium deposits within the rotator cuff tendon is not entirely understood. Different ideas have been suggested, including blood supply and aging of the tendon, but the evidence to support these conclusions is not clear
