Aseptic Necrosis of Hip

Definition:
Death or decay of tissue due to local ischemia in the absence of infection
Symptoms:
  • Groin pain
  • Buttock, thigh, knee pain
  • Limping
Causes:
  • Fracture of the femur
  • Dislocation of the hip
  • Legg-Calve-Perthes disease
Treatment:
  • Hip ROM and stretching exercises
  • Non-weight bearing strengthening exercises
  • Possible surgical intervention
