Elbow Tendinitis/bursitis
Definition:
Inflammation of the tendons/bursas attached to the elbow.
Symptoms:
- Pain in the elbow
- Point tender on affected tendon/bursa
- Loss of ROM in the elbow
- Stiffness in the elbow
- Pain with gripping
- Pain with shaking hands or opening a door
Causes:
- Overuse
- Repetitive hand, wrist, elbow movements
- Direct blow
- Repetitive gripping
Treatment:
- ROM and stretching exercises
- Soft tissue massage
- Cryotherapy
- Hand intrinsic muscle strengthening
- Posture program
