Ulnar Nerve Neuritis
Definition:
Inflammation of the ulnar nerve.
Symptoms:
- Numbness and tingling into the fourth and fifth fingers
- Pain in the elbow
- Weakness in the hand
Causes:
- Repeated activities with a flexed elbow- driving, sleeping, keyboarding, weightlifting
- Entrapment of the ulnar nerve at the elbow or wrist
- Trauma to elbow
- Rheumatoid arthritis
Treatment:
- ROM and stretching
- Posture program
- Hand intrinsic muscle strengthening
- Upper extremity strengthening
