A non-neoplastic soft tissue tumor that may occur in any joint, but most often occurs on or around joints and tendons in the hands or feet. Also known as a Bible cyst or Bible bump.
Symptoms:
Swelling that often appears on or around joints and tendons in the hand or foot
Visible and palpable bump
Pain in the hand or foot
Loss of ROM in the hand or foot
Causes:
Out-pouching or distention of a weakened portion of a joint capsule or tendon sheath
