AC/Clavicle Tendinitis/Bursitis
Definition:
Inflammation of the tendons/bursas attached to the AC/clavicle.
Symptoms:
- Pain in the front of the shoulder
- Point tender on the acromioclavicular joint
- Pain when reaching across to the other shoulder with the affected arm
- Pain with increased activity
Causes:
- Faulty posture
- Inappropriate weight lifting techniques
- Old injuries or trauma
- Lack of strength of shoulder stabilizers
Treatment:
- Stretching and shoulder ROM exercises
- Posture program
- Ice massage
- Strengthening shoulder stabilizers
