Definition:
Damage, harm, or loss to the digital nerve particularly as the result of external force.
Symptoms:
  • Possible laceration
  • Numbness in the affected finger
Causes:
  • Laceration
  • Crush injury
  • Heavy object rolling on hand
  • Heavy object falling on hand
Treatment:
  • Possible surgical intervention
  • ROM and stretching exercises
  • Hand intrinsic muscle strengthening
