Radial Styloid Tenosynovitis
Definition:
Tenosynovitis of the sheath or tunnel that surrounds two tendons that control movement of the thumb
Symptoms:
- Thumb pain
- Point tender on the tendon of the thumb
- Swelling over the thumb tendon
- Pain with gripping
Causes:
- Overuse
- Repetitive movements of the thumb
Treatment:
- Soft tissue massage
- ROM and stretching exercises
- Posture program
- Upper extremity strengthening
