Fracture of Lunate Bone of Wrist
Definition:
A break, especially the breaking of a bone or cartilage in the lunate bone of wrist.
Symptoms:
- Pain in the wrist/hand
- Swelling in the wrist/hand
- Loss of ROM in the wrist/hand
- Bruising
- Associated with Keinbock's Disease
Causes:
- Fall on an outstretched hand
- Forceful push
Treatment:
- Period of immobilization
- Progress to ROM and stretching exercises
- Hand intrinsic muscle strengthening
- Upper extremity strengthening
