Fracture of Triquetral Bone of Wrist

Definition:
A break, especially the breaking of a bone or cartilage in the triquetral bone of wrist.
Symptoms:
  • Pain in the near 5th finger
  • Swelling in the wrist
  • Loss of ROM in the wrist
  • Bruising
Causes:
  • Direct blow
  • Fall
Treatment:
  • Period of immobilization
  • Progress to ROM and stretching exercises
  • Hand intrinsic muscle strengthening
  • Upper extremity strengthening
