Fracture of Trapezium Bone
Definition:
A break, especially the breaking of a bone or cartilage in the trapezium bone.
Symptoms:
- Pain in the wrist near thumb
- Swelling in the wrist near thumb
- Loss of ROM in the wrist and thumb
- Bruising
Treatment:
- Possible surgical intervention
- Period of immobilization
- Progress to ROM and stretching exercises
- Hand intrinsic muscle strengthening
- Upper extremity strengthening
