Definition:
Displacement of the midcarpus; specifically disturbance or disarrangement of the normal relation of the bones entering into the formation of a joint.
Symptoms:
- Instability of the hand
- Pain in the hand
Causes:
- Fall on an outstretched hand
Treatment:
- Possible surgical intervention
- ROM and stretching exercises
- Hand intrinsic muscle strengthening
- Upper extremity strengthening
