Villonodular Synovitis of the Forearm
Definition:
Proliferation of synovial tissue of the forearm, composed of synovial villi and fibrous nodules infiltrated by giant cells and macrophages.
Symptoms:
- Swelling in the forearm
- Pain in the forearm, especially with movement
- Sudden onset
- Loss of ROM in the forearm
- Forearm feels warm to touch
Treatment:
- ROM and stretching
- Upper extremity strengthening
- Possible surgical intervention
