Knee Laxity Lateral Compartment
Definition:
Looseness or freedom of movement of the lateral compartment in the knee joint, normally or excessive.
Symptoms:
- Instability in the knee
- Pain with walking
Causes:
- Disruption of ACL or LCL
- Laxity in the lateral capsule
- Lateral capsule tear
Treatment:
- Possible surgical intervention
- ROM and stretching
- Knee stabilization exercises
- Lower extremity strengthening exercises
