Anterior Dislocation of the Tibia

Definition:

Displacement of the anterior tibialis of the tibia, specifically disturbance or disarrangement of the normal relation of the bones entering into the formation of a joint.

Symptoms:

Severe knee pain
Knee instability
Limited knee ROM

Causes:

Forced knee hyperextension

Treatment:

Knee immobilization
Progress to knee ROM and strengthening exercises
Possible surgical intervention
