Cervical Instability

Definition:
The state of being unstable, or lacking stability in the cervical spine. The abnormal tendency of a joint to subluxate or dislocate with normal activities and stresses.
Symptoms:
  • Drop attacks
  • Facial or lip paresthesia
  • Bilateral or quadrilateral limb paresthesia
  • Nystagmus
  • Dizziness
  • Blurred vision
Causes:
  • Whiplash
  • Motor vehicle accident
  • Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis
Treatment:
  • Seek medical advise to determine the severity of injury
  • Postural program
