Bicipital Tendinitis

Definition:
Inflammation of the tendons attached to the biceps.
Symptoms:
  • Pain in the front of the shoulder
  • Pain with reaching overhead and to the side
  • Decreased shoulder ROM
  • Point tender on the biceps tendon
Causes:
  • Repetitive shoulder motions including throwing or swimming
  • Chronic inflammation of the biceps tendon
  • Faulty posture
Treatment:
  • Shoulder ROM and stretching exercises
  • Postural program
  • Shoulder stabilization strengthening
