Bicipital Tendinitis
Definition:
Inflammation of the tendons attached to the biceps.
Symptoms:
- Pain in the front of the shoulder
- Pain with reaching overhead and to the side
- Decreased shoulder ROM
- Point tender on the biceps tendon
Causes:
- Repetitive shoulder motions including throwing or swimming
- Chronic inflammation of the biceps tendon
- Faulty posture
Treatment:
- Shoulder ROM and stretching exercises
- Postural program
- Shoulder stabilization strengthening
