Laxity of Talotibial Joint
Definition:
Looseness or freedom of movement of the talotibial joint, normally or excessive.
Symptoms:
- Loose feeling in the ankle
- Pain in the ankle
- Point tender on injured ligament
Causes:
- Ligament injury
- Bone fracture
- Inheritable connective tissue disorder
- Congenital
- Chronic ankle sprain
Treatment:
- Foot intrinsic muscle strengthening
- Lower extremity strengthening
- Ankle stabilization exercises
