Peroneal Tendinitis

Definition:
Inflammation of the peroneal tendons.
Symptoms:
  • Pain on the outside of the ankle
  • Stiffness in the ankle
  • Swelling in the ankle
Causes:
  • Overuse
  • Repetitive running
  • Improper training
  • Muscle imbalance
Treatment:
  • ROM and stretching
  • Soft tissue massage
  • Gait program
  • Foot intrinsic muscle strengthening
  • Lower extremity strengthening
